Al Shamal Shriners

The Grande Prairie Club has its  beginning in 1962 under the direction of the Al Azhar Temple. With the formation of the Al Shamal Temple, the Club, under the direction of President Bruce McCullough became part of the new Temple whose formation it had wholeheartedly supported.

The Club members are involved in several Units including the Motor Corps, Clowns, Provost Corps and Pipes and Drums. All Units are happy to welcome new members.

The Fund raising activities include the annual Shrine  Circus, bingos, casinos and some special projects. The funds are dispersed to the Shriners Hospitals. The Club also provides assistance to families of  the area in arranging transportation to facilities for the parents and  children.

The Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month except July and August. The business meeting begins at 6:00 pm followed by dinner  and entertainment. The December meeting is a Christmas social and visitors  are always welcome. A weekend in late November is traditionally the Shrine Ball and the Installation of Officers and is normally conducted by the Potentate and his Divan.

There is no initiation fee and annual dues are nominal.

The Grande Prairie Club is a happy club  and pleased to welcome new members to a great opportunity to further their Masonic involvement in providing citizens of the world a better place in  which to live.
